Martina Navratilova hopeful of giving boost to Agnieszka Radwanska

Martina Navratilova believes that she has the ability to help Agnieszka Radwanska reach the next level in her search for a first Grand Slam title.

Martina Navratilova has claimed that she is confident of giving Agnieszka Radwanska a vital boost in her bid for a first Grand Slam title.

Radwanska confirmed the appointment of Navratilova as her coach in December, and the 18-time Grand Slam champion is hopeful of inspiring the 25-year-old to success at the Australian Open.

"You never know what you can bring to a player," Navratilova told BBC Radio 5 live. "Inspiration is one thing - I know I felt great when Billie Jean King was working with me part-time. Whenever she was around I know I worked a little bit harder.

"Just that gives you a bit of a boost, but I think most of all it's about what I can bring to the table as far as mentality, what goes through your heart, what goes through your head, and how to play the game.

"Agnieszka doesn't need any big changes but some adjustments here or there that I think can make a big difference in her game."

Radwanska reached the third round in Melbourne with a straight-sets win over Johanna Larsson on Thursday.
