Simona Halep happy after 'adapting' to late start

Simona Halep says that she successfully adapted to the late start time of her match with Jarmila Gajdosova.

Simona Halep has said that she is happy with how she coped with a late start time, after beating Jarmila Gajdosova in the Australian Open second round.

Rafael Nadal, who was on court before her, took over four hours to see off Tim Smyczek, forcing Halep and Gajdosova to start their match near midnight.

She told reporters: "It was a long time waiting but, you know, that is tennis and I have to adapt very quickly on court and I'm happy I did a really great job today."

Halep won the match 6-2 6-2 and will face Bethanie Mattek-Sands in the next round.
