Kyle Edmund: 'Training with Andy Murray has helped my game'

British number three Kyle Edmund believes that training with Andy Murray has helped improve his game ahead of his debut at the Australian Open.

Kyle Edmund has revealed that he is feeling the benefits of having trained with two-time major winner Andy Murray.

The Beverley-based player came through qualifying to earn a place in the main draw in Melbourne, and the British number three believes that spending time at a training camp in Miami with Murray has aided his development on the ATP Tour.

The 20-year-old told The Independent: "Working with Andy in 2013, it was obviously a higher standard, so for me to play with him, I was having to work really hard to win points."

"This year when I went back and played with him, I felt a lot more comfortable with the balance and speed of play. I felt a good improvement from that year, which is what you want."

Edmund makes his Australian Open debut on Tuesday against American Steve Johnson.
