Andy Murray seals his place in the semi-finals of the ATP World Tour Finals en route to a straight-sets victory over Stanislas Wawrinka.

Andy Murray safely booked his place in the semi-finals of the ATP World Tour Finals on his way to a straight-sets victory over Stanislas Wawrinka at the O2 Arena in London this afternoon.

Murray only needed to win one set to seal his spot in the last four having won his first two matches, and after wrapping up the opener 6-4 he went on to win the match with a 6-2 triumph in the second set.

Both players started in impressive fashion, giving very little away off their own serve during the opening games.

Indeed, the first break point did not arrive until the seventh game, but it proved to be a decisive one as Murray took it to move in control of proceedings.

The Brit almost made it back-to-back breaks in the ninth game too, but he failed to take any of his three set points as Wawrinka hung on.

It was only a stay of execution for the world number four, though, and Murray soon served out the set to clinch his place in the semi-finals.

Wawrinka grew more and more frustrated as the match wore on, with his impressive play being outshone by Murray at every turn.

That was particularly evident in the second set as Murray quickly raced into a 4-0 lead, and he was then able to serve out the set to wrap up a 6-2 win.
