Roger Federer: 'Rafael Nadal consistency too good for me'

Roger Federer says that Rafael Nadal's consistency was too good for him in the semi-finals of the ATP World Tour Finals this afternoon.

Rafael Nadal's consistency was too much for Roger Federer today, the Swiss has conceded.

Federer was beaten 7-5 6-3 in the semi-finals of the season-ending ATP World Tour Finals in London by the Spaniard, as an unsuccessful year for the former world number one came to an end.

BBC Sport quotes Federer as saying: "I just struggled to stay consistent enough throughout the match, and that's why he deserved to win.

"I thought the margins were more on his side. He was playing more consistent. He was playing more solid. He plays the way he always plays.

"I just couldn't come up with the shots when I needed them, forehand or serve, moving forward."

Nadal will face either Novak Djokovic or Stanislas Wawrinka in tomorrow night's final at the O2 Arena.
