Great Britain without Lutalo Muhammad for World Taekwondo Championships

Lutalo Muhammad withdraws from the Great Britain squad for the World Taekwondo Championships in Russia due to a knee injury.

Lutalo Muhammad has withdrawn from the Great Britain squad for the WTF World Taekwondo Championships in Russia this month due to a knee injury.

The 23-year-old, who will not be replaced in the team, suffered the problem while at one of GB's training camps leading up to the competition.

"I would have loved to fight at the World Championships but I am sure my teammates will do me proud," BBC Sport quotes Muhammad as saying.

The US Open winner, who is hopeful of being fit for the European Games in June, was due to compete in the -87kg division.
