Daniel Jervis dumbfounded after bronze triumph

Welsh swimmer Daniel Jervis says that he still can't believe that he won a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games following his 1,500m success.

Wales swimmer Daniel Jervis has admitted that he remains in disbelief following his bronze medal in tonight's 1,500m medley at the Commonwealth Games.

Eighteen-year-old Jervis produced a mature display to secure a podium finish behind Mack Horton of Australia and Canada's Ryan Cochrane, who claimed silver and gold respectively.

"Oh my days! It was an honour for me to win a medal here and to be swimming in the same pool with these guys is amazing. I just don't believe what I've done," he told BBC Sport.

Jervis's compatriot Jazz Carlin claimed silver in her final race of the Games earlier tonight.
