Teenager Adam Peaty sets a new British 100m breaststroke record at the FINA World Championships in Doha, Qatar.

Great Britain's Adam Peaty has set a new British 100m breaststroke record on day one of the FINA World Championships in Doha, Qatar.

The 19-year-old headed into the world short course competition with two Commonwealth and four European gold medals to his name following a successful year.

Today in his heat, Peaty took half a second off fellow Brit Michael Jamieson's best time to snatch a new British record in 57.02 seconds.

Peaty broke the 50m breaststroke world record at the Europeans in Berlin this summer.
