One swimmer through for Team GB in 50m breaststroke at European Games

Charlie Attwood is the sole Team GB representative in the 50m breaststroke in Baku after the qualifying rounds.

Team GB's Charlie Attwood has ensured a safe passage through to the 50m breaststroke semi-finals in Baku, while teammates Luke Davies and Tom Fannon missed out.

Attwood came fourth in the fifth heat of the morning, clocking a time of 28.62 seconds to finish eighth overall.

Meanwhile, Fannon (30.58s) swam in the second heat, but could not record a strong enough time despite finishing second.

Davies took part in the third heat, but his time of 29.59s was not enough to see him through to the semis this afternoon.

The eliminated pair have enjoyed success at the European Games already, with Davies winning bronze in the 200m breaststroke yesterday, and Fannon gold in the 4x100m freestyle relay after swimming in the heats.
