Genevieve Randall happy to compete for Team GB in four European Games events

Great Britain synchronised swimmer Genevieve Randall believes that being one of the busier competitors at the European Games is good practice for the upcoming Olympics.

Great Britain synchronised swimmer Genevieve Randall has expressed her happiness at being one of the busier competitors in her discipline at the European Games.

The 17-year old has been entered in four events in Baku - the solo free routine, the duet alongside Jodie Cowie, and both team events.

Randall told the Team GB website: "Though it's a competition where we will be competing in more events than we would in Rio, potentially, it's great because it means we have to keep on the ball and our fitness has to be great, because we have to keep up with all the other programmes.

"It has been different to what we would do in a normal synchro aquatics competition. Because you are just with synchronised swimmers and you're all the same age, so it has been really nice to meet other athletes at the village and it feels like good preparation for what Rio will be like."

Randall progressed to the finals of the solo free routine and helped her team to 10th in the free combination preliminaries, but was knocked out in the duet.
