Stephen Milne "really happy" to be in 1500m freestyle final

British swimmer Stephen Milne says that he is "really happy" to be in the final of the men's 1500 freestyle.

British swimmer Stephen Milne has admitted that he is "really happy" to be through to the final of the 1500m freestyle at the World Swimming Championships in Russia.

The 21-year-old finished fourth in the fastest heat of the morning, leaving him fourth overall heading into the final, just behind defending champion Sun Yang.

Milne told reporters: "I'm really happy with the results of those heats. I wanted to make the final and I have so I'm really happy with the performance.

"It's about making the final. I've got my ticket now. I just have to prepare for it and do the best I can. Considering everything, I was happy with the 800m. It was good experience but this is my main event and the one I train for."

Milne was seventh in the final of the 800m earlier this week.
