China's Shiwen Ye has insisted that the best from her is yet to come after securing the gold medal in the women's 400m individual medley.
The 16-year-old, who is also through to the semi-finals of the 200m event, is targeting improvement in breaststroke and freestyle.
She said: "There's much room for improvement. It's true for breaststroke I am lagging behind but I think my freestyle result is also not that good.
"Usually I'm very bad at turning. This is one of my worst basic skills, but turning is a very important skill, therefore I was practising my turns before the competition."
Ye, who smashed the world record in the 400m with a finish time of 4:28.43, is in action in the 200m semi-finals at 8.55pm this evening.
