Ali Carter has been given the all-clear by doctors for the second time after being diagnosed with lung cancer earlier this year.
The two-time World Snooker Championship runner-up, who has previously undergone treatment for testicular cancer as well as battling Crohn's disease for the past decade, announced the news on Twitter.
"Two beautiful words that I've been waiting for 'all clear'," he said. "I can now concentrate on getting my life and career back. I will be glad when this year is over. Some better things to come in 2015."
Carter admitted to feeling "very emotional" when he lifted the General Cup following a 7-6 victory over Shaun Murphy in Hong Kong.
That was his first competition since a short hiatus away from the sport as he recovered from the setback of being diagnosed with cancer - this time affecting the lungs - for a second time in May.
Carter competed in the UK Championship earlier this month, although he suffered defeat in the first round at the hands of Zhang Anda.
