Rachel Parish: "I can shoot a lot better"

England's double trap shooting bronze medalist Rachel Parish admits that she can shoot better that she did in her Commonwealth Games display.

England shooter Rachel Parish has insisted that she can shoot "a lot better" than the performance that she put in to win bronze in the women's double trap event earlier today.

She won the third-place shoot-off to clinch the final place on the podium, while teammate Charlotte Kerwood claimed gold for the second time in her career.

The 33-year-old, who won silver in the same event in 2006 behind Kerwood, told reporters: "I've practised shoot-offs before in training and with the other England guys so I knew what was coming. I knew that because I'd done it before I could do it again and I did.

"I wasn't very well for a couple of days before our individual competition in Melbourne 2006 so I was disappointed not to have done better but I was still pleased with a silver medal.

"I'm disappointed with the way I shot this time as I know I can shoot a lot better but at least I've come away with a medal."

Parish also won a gold medal in the team event with Kerwood in Melbourne.
