British and Irish Lions coach Warren Gatland has said that the Six Nations clash between Wales and England in Cardiff last weekend was a great help to his side's chances in Australia.
Gatland believes that the "intensity and physicality" in the match that ended in a 30-3 win for the hosts will prepare his team for their summer tour.
"We couldn't have asked for any more for the finale with one team playing for the Grand Slam and the other team still in with a chance of winning the championship," BBC Sport quotes the 49-year-old as saying.
"That set it up for us with a good level of intensity and physicality. We felt there was a little bit of a fall-off in the quality of some of the games but not in terms of the character and guts that were shown."
Gatland will announce his final squad on April 30.
