Wales's Liam Williams a doubt for World Cup due to foot surgery

Liam Williams is a doubt for Wales's World Cup campaign as he has undergone surgery on his foot.

Wales full-back Liam Williams is an injury doubt for the World Cup later this year as he has undergone foot surgery.

The 24-year-old, who has 23 international caps to his name, has gone under the knife to cure a "foot complaint".

A statement from Wales confirmed that Williams will continue as part of the team's World Cup preparations, but no timescale for his recovery has been provided.

The news comes after Jonathan Davies was ruled out of the tournament with a knee injury.

The World Cup on UK shores will get underway on September 18.
