Wales captain Sam Warburton will reportedly lead the British and Irish Lions on their tour of Australia this summer.
According to The Telegraph, the Welshman will be preferred to Ireland's Paul O'Connell, who captained the Lions in South Africa in 2009.
The Australia tour will be Warburton's first with the Lions, but head coach Gatland, who also manages Warburton and Wales, is believed to have opted for the flanker in a side that will include at least 15 Welshmen.
There will be as few as eight Englishman in the final squad.
