Leigh Halfpenny thanks medical teams after sustaining a neck injury in Wales' defeat to Australia yesterday.

Leigh Halfpenny has been released from hospital following scans on a neck injury.

The Wales full-back was injured while trying to prevent Australia's last-minute try in their game yesterday.

The 23-year-old said: "I want to say thank you to all of the medical teams who have looked after me following my injury.

"The paramedics, WRU and Millennium Stadium medical teams were outstanding. All of the staff at University Hospital Wales were also amazing.

"I'd also like to thank all of those who have been sending me messages of support following the injury."

It is not known how long Halfpenny will be out of action for club side Cardiff Blues.
