Scotland pair to miss start of Six Nations

Scotland pair David Denton and Sean Maitland are to miss the start of the Six Nations due to injury.

Scotland pair David Denton and Sean Maitland have been ruled out of the start of the Six Nations through injury.

Both men suffered problems while playing for their clubs in European competition last weekend.

Edinburgh forward Denton is struggling with a calf injury, while Glasgow Warriors wing Maitland is nursing a shoulder concern.

The duo are expected to available for selection before the end of the tournament.

Scotland get their Six Nations campaign underway against France in Paris on February 7.
