Mark McCall "really disappointed" by Saracens defeat

Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall admits that his side played poorly during their defeat away to Sale Sharks in the Aviva Premiership.

Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall has admitted that he is "really disappointed" by his side's defeat to Sale Sharks in the Aviva Premiership.

Sale kept up their push for the playoffs on Saturday afternoon as they beat Sarries 14-10 at the Salford City Stadium.

While he insists that the Sharks should be credited for their performance, McCall believes that his own players struggled to reach their usual standards.

"Overall I'm really disappointed but particularly with that first-half performance," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "Sale were excellent, give them credit for that, but we were off our game in that first half and the two yellow cards didn't help.

"We weren't good enough in the first half but were a lot more professional in the second half. They defended brilliantly, though, but it was important to get a bonus point in what is a really competitive league."

Saracens have the chance to get back to winning ways next Saturday when they host Newcastle Falcons in the league.
