Wasps to appeal against Nathan Hughes's three-week ban

Wasps announce that they will appeal a three-week ban issued to Nathan Hughes for kneeing Northampton Saints winger George North.

Wasps have announced that the club will appeal against Nathan Hughes's three-week ban for appearing to knee Northampton Saints winger George North during a recent clash.

The 23-year-old was issued with the suspension following Wasps' 52-30 defeat to the Saints last Friday.

As a result of the collision, North has been ruled out until the end of April with a head injury.

A statement from Wasps via their official website read: "The club will appeal on the grounds that it was an accident and no foul play occurred. Unfortunately, we are not in a position to comment further until the result of the appeal hearing has been received."

The appeal hearing will be held next Friday.
