David Mele suspended for stamping

David Mele receives a one-week suspension from the RFU after his sending-off in Leicester Tigers' 45-0 defeat to Bath on Saturday.

Leicester Tigers scrum-half David Mele has been given a one-week suspension after pleading guilty to a charge of 'stamping or trampling' during his side's 45-0 defeat at the hands of Bath.

The 28-year-old will now miss Saturday's Aviva Premiership clash with London Irish.

"Mele was given a one-week ban beginning September 23. He is free to play again on September 30," the RFU confirmed in a statement released today.

Mele joined Leicester Tigers in 2013 after spending seven years with French side Perpignan.
