Ireland's Joe Schmidt: Six Nations thrill "unbearable"

Joe Schmidt is overjoyed with Ireland's Six Nations triumph and admits that emotions during the final game were "unbearable".

Ireland coach Joe Schmidt has hailed his side's Six Nations triumph.

The Irish defeated France 22-20 at the Stade de France in Paris on Saturday, as Brian O'Driscoll ended his international career on a winning note.

"The fairytale continued right to the end for the magic man [O'Driscoll] and I'm just delighted for him," BBC Sport quotes Schmidt as saying.

"It's unbearable, I'm not sure I can last too long doing this job. The heart just about gave up.

"We've shown incredible discipline right through the tournament and I think it was a credit to the players today that they maintained their discipline right to the finish."

This was Ireland's first Six Nations success since the 2009 Grand Slam.
