Chris Henry has said that Ireland held their "edgiest training session of this campaign" ahead of their Test against Argentina this weekend.
The losers of the match will drop out of the top eight in the world, meaning that they will face two of the top sides in the group stages at the 2015 World Cup.
The flanker told BBC Sport: "Losing two weeks ago [against South Africa] was one of the hardest moments I've had to face in my rugby career. I didn't think it would hurt as much, but it did.
"It's been bubbling this week. Not everyone trained on Monday, but it definitely started to bubble yesterday. That was the edgiest training session of this campaign.
"In teams I've been involved in before, if you're edgy at this stage of the week and you're getting tetchy with your teammates, then that's a good sign."
The two sides have won three games each in their last six meetings.
