Ireland winger Andrew Trimble is due to undergo a second scan on the ankle injury that he suffered during the team's win over Wales on Saturday.
An initial look at the problem proved to be "a little bit inconclusive", according to kicking coach Richie Murphy.
Trimble is expected to miss out on Ireland's second Rugby World Cup warm-up match against Scotland this weekend.
"The scan was a little bit inconclusive so he's going back in tomorrow for another scan," Murphy is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.
Trimble has won 58 caps for Ireland since 2005.
