Matt Hopper extends Harlequins stay

Harlequins centre Matt Hopper pens a new deal with the club until 2017.

Harlequins centre Matt Hopper has signed a contract extension with the club until 2017.

The 29-year-old has made 80 appearances for Quins since he arrived from Cornish Pirates in 2011.

Hopper has played a total of 16 times for the team during the current campaign.

"I'm absolutely delighted to re-sign with Harlequins. It really was a clear-cut decision for me," he told the club's official website.

"Personally, my family and I have thoroughly enjoyed moving to this club and it is definitely where I feel I belong at this time in my rugby career.

"The style of rugby, enthusiasm of the boys and coaching staff on a daily basis and the success I have been fortunate enough to be a part of over the past four years were the drawing factors for me to stay."

Hopper and his Harlequins teammates are back in action on Saturday when they hosts Wasps in the European Champions Cup.
