Alex Corbisiero has suggested that missing out on the Six Nations earlier this year will only make him even more determined to succeed for England.
The 26-year-old has struggled with injuries over the past couple of seasons, but he remains a part of the Red Rose's 45-man World Cup training squad.
After being edged out by Joe Marler and Mako Vunipola for a starting spot at the Six Nations, Corbisiero hopes that he can now show boss Stuart Lancaster exactly what he is capable of.
"I was really happy with my form," he told The Telegraph when asked about his omission earlier this year. "My body felt good and then obviously the shoulder injury happened, which was a frustrating three months.
"It was a tough pill to take. It was one of those things but at the same time it re-focused me away from the game. Unfortunately I came back with not enough time to really put my hand up for a spot in the Six Nations. The boys Joe and Mako were playing very, very well [for their clubs] and they played well for England as well.
"The position is so competitive and I did not even get a chance to show what I could do, but that has probably lit more of a fire under me this summer and maybe made me that much hungrier to try and get another shot at it, wearing that shirt and especially playing at Twickenham."
Corbisiero has not started a Test match for England since December 2012.
