Will Genia: 'We believe in ourselves'

Australia scrum-half Will Genia tells Sports Mole that his side get all of the confidence they need from perpetual improvement in training.

Australia scrum-half Will Genia has talked up his side's confidence heading into the semi-finals of the Rugby World Cup.

The Wallabies booked their place in the last four of the competition with a nail-biting win over Scotland at Twickenham this afternoon as Bernard Foley's late penalty handed them a 35-34 victory.

That result followed up victories over England and Wales, both of which required Michael Cheika's side to show different attributes as their attacking flair shone against the hosts while they defended stoically to keep Wales at bay.

However, when asked whether winning in an array of different styles helped to build confidence in the squad, Genia told Sports Mole: "We gain confidence from just working hard in training.

"We know that if we prepare well and look to improve ourselves each and every day, even just by 1%, we can be better as people and better as players, and that gives us a chance to play well."

Australia will face Argentina in the semi-final at Twickenham next Sunday, while either New Zealand or South Africa await the winners in the final six days later.
