FIFA has taken steps to improve security in and around World Cup venues after around 100 Chile supporters stormed into the Maracana's media centre.
The incident took place ahead of La Roja's 2-0 victory against Spain last night, with football's world governing body later condemning the behaviour of those involved.
Ralk Mutschke, FIFA's director of security, is quoted by The Guardian as saying: "It is embarrassing. We have to protect the media there is no doubt about it and we also have to protect the fans.
"They came in through a little gate in the outer perimeter and we have had meetings yesterday evening and this morning to assess the situation and to ensure that this will not be repeated. I am confident with measures being discussed this will not happen again."
The supporters involved were later detained.
