BBC to drop John Inverdale from next year's Wimbledon coverage?

John Inverdale will reportedly be removed from the BBC's coverage of Wimbledon next year following his remarks about Marion Bartoli.

The BBC are reportedly planning to drop broadcaster John Inverdale from their coverage of the Wimbledon Championships next year.

The decision is said to have been made following the fallout of Inverdale's comments ahead of this year's women's singles final between Marion Bartoli and Sabine Lisicki.

The broadcaster claimed that Bartoli was "never going to be a looker", so had to "compensate" in other ways, which caused Culture Secretary Maria Miller to get involved.

It is understood that Inverdale will not be part of the Wimbledon coverage next season, but will continue to host the Six Nations on the BBC, according to the Daily Mail.

Miller wrote to BBC director-general Lord Hall regarding possible action being taken against Inverdale following the remarks.
