Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has been spotted at Wimbledon to cheer on fellow Scotsman Andy Murray.

The British number one will receive the support from the 71-year-old when he takes to Centre Court this afternoon to go up against Fernando Verdasco for a place in the semi-finals.

Ahead of today's play, Ferguson, who watched Murray win the US Open in New York last year, was spotted walking alongside Murray's mother Judy at SW19.

Ferguson, who told Sky Sports News that he was "looking forward" to Murray's match, was also spotted chatting to England rugby head coach Stuart Lancaster while sitting in the Royal Box.
