A woman has claimed that West Indies cricketer Chris Gayle exposed his genitals to her in the team dressing room during a training session at last year's World Cup.
The allegations have been made amid the fallout of a recent television interview, in which Gayle asked presenter Mel McLaughlin out for a drink, and added "don't blush, baby," when she failed to respond.
Gayle, who was being interviewed after scoring 41 runs off 15 balls for the Melbourne Renegades in a Big Bash League match, was fined around £5,000 and has since apologised for his comments.
Now, a woman, who has chosen to remain anonymous, has told Fairfax Media that Gayle partially exposed his genitals to her and said "are you looking for this?" after she entered the changing room during a training session in Sydney last year.
The woman has claimed that she walked into the room to get a sandwich, thinking that all the players were out on the field, but she found Gayle, wrapped in a towel, and another player.
West Indies team manager Richie Richardson was reportedly informed of the incident, but Gayle was not named.
An email was then sent to the entire squad telling them that women working around the team should be treated with respect.
