West Ham United are to investigate allegations that a supporter shouted abuse towards West Brom midfielder Jake Livermore relating to his baby son, who died in 2014.

West Ham United have said that they will investigate alleged abuse from a supporter towards West Bromwich Albion midfielder Jake Livermore.

During the second half of the Premier League fixture at the London Stadium, Livermore was substituted before appearing to react to comments made by fans who were sitting behind the Baggies bench.

The England international had to be prevented from moving several rows into the stand and both clubs have acknowledged that an investigation must now take place.

According to Sky Sports News, West Ham have received an allegation that a supporter shouted abuse at Livermore relating to his baby son, who died in 2014.

Livermore - who had been brought into the team as a late replacement for Matt Phillips - was escorted down the tunnel after the altercation.

West Ham prevailed by a 2-1 scoreline in East London thanks to two goals from Andy Carroll.
