Cardiff City midfielder Ravel Morrison has been cleared of threatening to have his ex-girlfriend killed.
The 21-year-old, who is on loan with the Championship side from West Ham United, was arrested in July after being accused of threatening to have acid thrown in the face of Reah Mansoor, and have her killed for £10,000.
In a hearing at Manchester Crown Court earlier today, prosecutor Guy Mathieson confirmed that the charge of putting Mansoor in fear of violence by harassment will no longer be pursued.
However, Morrison will still face a trial in January over accusations that he assaulted his former partner and her mother.
