Roger Federer hopes daughters follow in his footsteps

Roger Federer confesses that he would like to see his twin daughters get into sports.

World number one Roger Federer has admitted that he would like his twin daughters to follow in his sporting footsteps.

Myla Rose and Charlene Riva were born in July 2009, just weeks after their father had won Wimbledon for a sixth time.

When asked if his children had shown an interest in tennis by the Wall Street Journal, the 31-year-old replied: "Yes, but nothing significant."

He then went on to confess that he hopes his offspring eventually get into sports.

"I just hope they get into sports eventually. I think that'd be great. It's a great lifestyle and a good learning process," he added.

Federer opened up his US Open campaign last night with a victory over Donald Young.
