USA speed skating team to change suits in Sochi

The American speed skating team will not wear the new designs of their suits anymore and will go back to the earlier versions for the rest of the 2014 Sochi Games.

Team USA's speed skating team have decided to discard the new designs of their suits and will go back to the earlier versions.

The American side have failed to perform to their satisfaction in six events at the ongoing 2014 Winter Olympics wearing their brand new sportswear designed by Under Armour Inc.

This has led the US to wear earlier versions of the suits made by the same company for the rest of the Sochi Games.

"We are constantly evaluating all aspects of race preparation and execution to help our athletes improve their output and maximize their physical and psychological advantages," Russia Today quotes US speedskating president Mike Plant as saying.

It has been reported that the new suits were supposed to help the American athletes dissipate heat generated during the run through the vent of the back, but instead allowed the air to create drag.
