The Society of Black Lawyers (SBL) unveils a new 10-point measure to tackle racism in football.

The Society of Black Lawyers (SBL) has unveiled a new plan suggesting that footballers found guilty of racism should be sacked.

The SBL's 10-point measure also calls for racist footballers to be banned for a minimum of six to nine months and games to be abandoned if racist chants are heard from the spectators.

The legal body, which is pushing for the creation of a union of black players, managers and coaches, threatens to report any anti-Semitic chants at Tottenham Hotspur matches to the Metropolitan Police unless the club and the FA show that they are doing enough to tackle the issue.

"In discussions with members of the Jewish community, we were made aware that this practice is still continuing and it has to come to an end," said SBL chairman Peter Herbert.

"If neither Tottenham FC nor the FA are willing to take a stand, then SBL will report the matter to the Metropolitan Police Service for investigation and, if necessary, prosecution.

"The report will be made if this behaviour does not cease by November 20. We will have monitors in attendance to observe what occurs."

A meeting between the FA, Professional Footballers' Association, Premier League and trustees of anti-racism body 'Kick It Out' will be held on Wednesday.
