NBA star Manu Ginobili's contract 'stolen by a bird'

San Antonio Spurs admit that an intern lost shooting guard Manu Ginobili's new contract after being attacked by a bird in Buenos Aires.

An intern with the San Antonio Spurs has claimed that a bird stole Manu Ginobili's new contract.

Having flown to Argentina during the off-season to secure the shooting guard's signature on a two-year extension, the intern says that his backpack, containing the contract, his laptop and passport, was stolen by a swooping bird shortly before his flight back to the States.

The club's director of basketball Sean Marks told reporters: "We were all waiting for Manu's contract to show up on eBay. It hasn't yet."

San Antonio had to send a second employee with a fresh copy of the contract to Buenos Aires to ensure that the deal was completed.
