Roy Keane has been summonsed to court over a public order offence after allegedly ranting at a taxi driver in Manchester earlier this year.
Police questioned the Republic of Ireland coach following the accusations last month after the driver claimed that Keane launched a foul-mouthed tirade at him.
In a statement, Greater Manchester Police said: "A summons was posted on March 2 2015 for Roy Keane to his home address in Hale to appear before Trafford Magistrates court on March 31 2015 for a Section 4A Public Order offence.
"This is in relation to an incident on Friday January 30 2015 when police were called to Ashley Road, Altrincham to a report that a man had behaved aggressively towards another man."
According to the Daily Mail, Fetah Kerar claims that Keane became aggressive after he had said hello to the retired footballer.
