Real Madrid player Cristiano Ronaldo voted most charitable sports star

Real Madrid footballer Cristiano Ronaldo is voted as the most charitable sports star.

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has been voted the most charitable figure in the world of sport.

The Portugal captain, who was named the world's best footballer in January, topped the list due to his work with UNICEF, Save the Children, Cahonas Scotland, Aid Still Required and World Vision.

The public vote was compiled by dosomething.org, which teamed up with the Athletes Gone Good Advisory Committee to decide on the most charitable sports stars.

WWE wrestler John Cena was second in the list, while world number one tennis player Serena Williams was third, figure skater Yuna Tim fourth and Barcelona star Neymar fifth.

British Olympic diver Tom Daley, who became patron of The Brain Tumour Charity following his father's death four years ago, is positioned 16th in the top 20.
