Cristiano Ronaldo gives gifts to children suffering from leukaemia

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo meets a group of young leukaemia sufferers at an event urging people to become bone marrow donors.

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo took some time away from matters on the pitch to focus on a group of youngsters suffering from leukaemia.

The Portugal captain, who has been heavily tipped to win the Ballon d'Or in January, headed to the studios of Cadena Cope, where four children were waiting for him.

The 28-year-old gave each one of the boys a Madrid shirt with 'Ronaldo 7' written on the back and posed for photos with the youngsters.

"I'm always available to help the children," 101greatgoals.com quotes Ronaldo as saying. "If I win the Ballon d'Or, all of you (children) will come to my party."

Ronaldo attended the event to urge the public to become bone marrow donors to help people suffering from the disease.
