Zlatan Ibrahimovic is reportedly planning to sue a Swedish doctor who suggested that the footballer has engaged in doping.
In an interview with SportBladet, Ulf Karlsson - a former member of the Sweden national team's medical staff - claimed that the 6'5" striker had probably taken performance-enhancing drugs during his time with Juventus a decade ago.
"In just six months at Juve he had already gained 10 kilograms," Karlsson said. "I think he was doping. At least that's what I believe."
The PSG star's agent Mino Raiola hit back fiercely at Karlsson's "ridiculous" comments, insisting that Ibrahimovic has never taken any form of drugs.
"We will sue him," Raiola told Expressen. "I'm not an expert, but we have a Swedish lawyer. We are not saying who the lawyer is. That will come later.
"There are always people who hate. Maybe [Dr Karlsson] is a former athlete who failed. Maybe he's jealous. This man has made a big mistake. He will have had a life before this statement, and a life after it. He is spreading falsehoods.
"We had plenty of doping controls at Juventus. Zlatan was tested between fifteen and twenty times. He was tested all the time. Juventus were put under the microscope. It's ridiculous. The facts are not there. We can prove that it is not true. At all the clubs Zlatan has been at, he doesn't even take aspirin!"
Ibrahimovic scored one but failed to convert a penalty last night as PSG were held to a surprise 2-2 draw by Manchester City.
