Tour de France winner Bradley Wiggins says that he had no intention of "flogging" himself to celebrity chat shows following his success at the Olympics.

Tour de France winner Bradley Wiggins has taken a subtle swipe at his fellow Olympians for appearing on celebrity chat shows Alan Carr: Chatty Man and The Jonathan Ross Show.

Wiggins, who won a gold medal at the London 2012 Games just weeks after becoming the first Brit to win the Tour de France in Paris, managed to avoid making TV appearances unlike Jessica Ennis, Tom Daley and a host of other Olympians.

"I've got a good management team who weren't flogging me to death the moment the Olympics were over," said Wiggins. "So I didn't go on Jonathan Ross or Chatty Man because it's not what it's ever been about."

Meanwhile, the 32-year-old is currently recovering from a bicycle accident.
