Sir Bradley Wiggins: 'Receiving knighthood was nerve-wracking'

Sir Bradley Wiggins admits that he was "shaking" when receiving a knighthood at Buckingham Palace.

Olympic cyclist Sir Bradley Wiggins has admitted that he was "shaking" when receiving a knighthood from the Queen at Buckingham Palace today.

The 33-year-old was given the honour for his services to cycling, which includes seven Olympic medals and becoming the first Brit to be crowned Tour de France champion last year.

"It was quite nerve-wracking actually," the Daily Mail quotes Wiggins as saying. "I'm just incredibly uncomfortable in those circumstances. I'm still shaking now, to be honest. I'm glad it's over."

Wiggins was joined at the Palace by his wife and two children.
