Ex-Arsenal star Kenny Sansom dealing with alcoholic issues day by day

Former Arsenal star Kenny Sansom says that he feels "really good" as he continues to battle alcoholism.

Former Arsenal star Kenny Sansom has revealed that he is dealing with his drinking problems "one day at a time".

The 54-year-old, who has had alcohol and gambling issues, revealed last month that he has spent a period of time homeless, but has insisted that he is now sober.

"I feel really good," Sansom told Sky Sports News. "I'd say I'm reasonably confident, but as an alcohol I can't say that I'll never drink again.

"I'd be kidding myself because you'll never know. I'll take one day at a time. I was drinking to forget about my problems."

The Professional Footballers' Association offered their help to Sansom following his revelation.
