Former Newcastle United striker Nile Ranger is reportedly given a 12-month community order for admitting common assault.

Former Newcastle United striker Nile Ranger has reportedly been issued with a 12-month community order for assaulting his girlfriend.

The 21-year-old pleaded guilty to pulling the hair of Shakira Bicar outside of Newcastle's Gate entertainment complex around 7pm on March 13.

As a result, Ranger has been ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work during a 12-month period as well as pay £85 in costs and a £60 victim surcharge, according to The Express.

Ranger was released by the Magpies earlier this season.
