A light-hearted website dedicated to UEFA boss Michel Platini has been targeted by the Michelin Guide for trademarking controversy.
The French firm, which offers a guide to the highest class of restaurants and hotels in various cities, has accused joke website www.michelinguides.com of stealing their name.
Salesman Adam Mascall created the website, which depicts mock-ups of football chief Platini in various outfits, including that of a girl guide, by purchasing the domain name for £6.
While the 28-year-old has insisted that the name is Michel In Guides, the French firm has insisted that they must "protect" their brand.
"I'm not attempting to use it for personal gain or to in any way confuse or redirect Michelin's customers," Mascall told The Sun. "I just did this for a laugh."
A Michelin spokesman added: "While we appreciate the amusing nature of the website, we have to do everything possible to protect the Michelin brand."
The website also shows an image of Platini on the front of the DVD of sci-fi movie The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy.
