Sir David Gower becomes ambassador for Laithwaite's Wine

Former England cricket captain David Gower is named as an ambassador for Laithwaite's Wine.

Former England cricket captain David Gower has been named as an ambassador for Laithwaite's Wine.

The 56-year-old, who is known more recently for his commentating and punditry duties, has also picked a case of 12 wines available to customers called The Gower Selection.

"You can't beat relaxing in the sunshine at a cricket ground, watching an exciting match while sipping just the right wine," said Gower. "I love that feeling when you discover a truly cracking bottle, so working with the friendly Laithwaite's Wine team to share a selection of 12 pitch perfect wines for fellow cricket and wine-lovers to enjoy during the Ashes has been a real pleasure."

The wine company is also an Official Sponsor of England Cricket.
