Andrew Flintoff: 'Giving up alcohol is biggest sacrifice'

Andrew Flintoff said the "biggest sacrifice" he's made is giving up alcohol in order to be in shape for the start of his boxing career.

Former England cricketer Andrew Flintoff has revealed that giving up alcohol has been the "biggest sacrifice" he's made since deciding to embark on a career in boxing.

The 34-year-old has been on a gruelling fitness regime since deciding to enter the ring and is planning to have his first fight at the end of the month.

"No Guinness, no red wine, no lager," Flintoff said in a Sky 1 documentary. "No walking the dog every night and popping in the local for a pint. I think that is probably one of my biggest sacrifices."

Flintoff retired from all forms of cricket in 2010.
