English cricketer Tom Allin found dead at the age of 28

Former Warwickshire bowler Tom Allin dies at the age of 28, just two days after 22-year-old Sussex bowler Matthew Hobden passed away.

English cricketer Tom Allin has been found dead at the age of 28.

The fast bowler, who spent six years playing for Warwickshire, was found at the base of a bridge near Bideford on Monday, according to BBC News.

Police have confirmed that they are investigating the young cricketer's death, but are not treating it as suspicious.

Warwickshire released a statement, which read: "Everyone at Edgbaston is immensely saddened by the news that former Warwickshire fast bowler Tom Allin has died.

"The thoughts of all at Warwickshire County Cricket Club are with Tom's family and friends, and we would ask that their privacy be respected during this difficult time."

Mark Ansell, chairman of Allin's league cricket club North Devon CC, is quoted as saying: "Everyone at the club is devastated by the news of Tom's death.

"He was a great guy and this has come as such a shock. The players at the club are numbed by what has happened. They met up on Tuesday night to support each other."

The death of Allin, who played one first-class match for Warwickshire before his departure in 2013, closely follows the passing of Sussex bowler Matthew Hobden, who was just 22 years old.
